History

Forberedelsesskolen took root as an idea in 1904. A group of lecturers at Randers State School didn’t think the pupils who were about to start in the first-middle tier (6th to 9th grade in todays terms) were capable enough, and they therefore decided to set up a private school.

“A school for boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 11, the sole purpose of which is to prepare the children for enrollment in the State School’s first-middle tier”

(From the invitation to form the limited company 1904)

On 22nd August 1905, the school opened with 115 pupils in a newly built premises here at Hobrovej 26A.

The school was modernized and extended in 1981 and again in 2010-2011.

A lot has happened since the school opened in 1905, but the focus on producing highly skilled students has persisted throughout the years.
